Cavalier King Charles Spaniels
The British Veterinary Association (BVA), Kennel Club UK (KC) and the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS) promote eye testing to identify inherited eye disease in both pedigree and cross breed dogs.
By screening our breeding stock we can use the information to eliminate or reduce the frequency of eye disease being passed onto our puppies.
Schedule A is a list of breeds and eye conditions that are known to be inherited in those breeds and under the Eye Scheme run by BVA/KC/ISDS an optometrist will examine the dog to look for signs of inherited disease. The results can be viewed on the KC website.
It is recommended that eyes are examined annually which is a recommendation that is followed at CameronCavs.
