1st puppy visit to the vets

July 7, 2018

Carrying 6 very active puppies to the vets is easier said than done.  Visit at Vets4Pets today is for the initial inoculation and the microchip which is now a legal requirement.

Puppies don't care for the law, microchip was very sore for all of them but like most things that children don't like it was necessary and for their own good at least if they are lost or stolen in future then the owners can be found - assuming everyone updates PetLog when they move address!

They all had a full head to tail check, ears, teeth, eyes, tummy, testicles for the boys, weight taken, check of tummy to make sure no umbilical hernia's and heart checked for murmurs plus inoculation.

We did expect 2-3 of the puppies to have an innocent  heart murmur as over 50% of puppies will present with one which fades away when the pup is 16-20 weeks old, but not this bunch, every one of them are clear and bouncing so very happy on that!

Took one of the offers at Vets4Pets called 1st Steps, means that vaccination, kennel cough protection, 3 months of flea & worming treatment plus microchip only cost £49 per pup - plus with the advantage that the rest of the first vaccination course that is completed by the owners will be 'free' as we have already paid for it, as long as they use Vets4Pets :)
